2. (Certified) Nurse:

  • A registered nurse takes over the direct care of the patients. This includes monitoring their health, administering medication, performing dressing changes, tending to wounds, monitoring vital signs and providing basic care such as personal hygiene, nutrition and mobility.
  • Nurses assist physicians with medical procedures and diagnostic tests. For example, they may assist in preparing for surgery, administer intravenous medications, take blood samples, or prepare patients for X-rays or other examinations.
  • Nurses are responsible for safely administering medication to patients. This includes monitoring dosages, knowing about medication and its side effects, documenting medication administration and informing patients about the correct intake of medication.

  •  An important task of a registered nurse is the accurate documentation of patient information, nursing measures and medical observations. They create care plans, update patient records, communicate with other members of the healthcare team, and create reports on patients’ conditions.

3. Nursing Assistant:

  • Basic care: Nursing assistants help patients with everyday tasks such as personal hygiene, dressing, eating and drinking, and using the toilet.
  • Vital signs monitoring: You regularly measure the patient’s vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature and respiration, and record these values in the patient files.
  • Mobility Assistance: Nursing assistants help patients move in bed, get up and walk if possible. They can also assist with the use of walkers or wheelchairs.
  • Assistance with medical procedures: You can assist the medical staff with various medical procedures, such as wound care, applying bandages or preparing instruments.
